Susan Schmit

Susan (Sue) Schmit, a senior consultant with Sherwood Learning Solutions L.L.C., has a quarter century of experience as a technical accountant, educator and business controller. She is a highly motivated and driven financial manager whose passion is to partner with business leadership and give direction through sound financial analysis and experience. Sue provides financial analysis to improve profitability and cash flow, develops short- and long-term financial plans and delivers financial training and coaching for leadership.

Earlier, Sue worked for Corning Inc., as a finance manager for training, business controller — Specialty Ceramics Business — Environmental Products Division, manager of financial controls, finance manager for the Manufacturing Center of Excellence, plant controller/logistics leader at the Environmental Products Division, and assistant plant controller.

At the State University of New York at Cortland, Sue has been a lecturer in the Economics Department for Accounting I, Accounting II and Principles of Marketing classes. At KPMG Peat Marwick, she was a senior auditor and team lead on audits in the manufacturing, government contracting, and not-for-profit and retail industries. Sue has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Alfred University and studied at the Sorbonne University.
